Olga Fladmark was born in Scotland to English and Norwegian parents and studied Fine Art at Edinburgh College of Art, completing a masters and specialising in stone carving and figurative sculpture. She exhibited in Edinburgh soon after graduating and then moved to London where she had a family and focussed on other things, working as a cook, in travel PR, accounting and property management. She kept up the art work on and off over the years, taking courses in printmaking and painting and often sketching family life. She has now returned to the art work with more time to devote to it.
Recently she completed the Newlyn School of Art’s year-long studio practice course which focussed on painting and at the end of year show exhibited large oil paintings depicting life at home.
She also joined the workshop of stone carver Kate Semple and competed a half live size female torso in Bath stone which was exhibited in Bradford on Avon. Over recent years Olga has been part of the Bath Sculpture Group run by Sue Larner which meets weekly to work from the model and took part in their summer show in July 2023.
Olga is based in Bath and works from her art studio at the bottom of her garden. She regularly visits Norway and particularly the Romsdal valley where her father came from. She is currently working on sculpture commissions and paintings of the Norwegian landscape and will be back in Norway in October to do more painting.
